Value for money ! Location: Right on the main street, making it very convenient. The main town is about a 25-minute walk, but there are nearby parks and plenty of cafés within walking distance. Good quality tourist hotel The hotel is about two miles south of the city centre. It is modern without being flashy. The rooms are well heated and sensibly sized. Power outlets are OK but there could be more. Everything worked. There's a lift. Breakfast and dinner were pleasant but typical of Bhutan tourist hotels.

Blissful Bhutan Love for Bhutan dates back to college days and I contacted many travel agencies persistently for a good deal. The enigmatic Himalayan Kingdom, a real Shangri-La has a charm of its own. Fortunately, no visa or entry fees was required for the citizens of India in 2019 to travel in Bhutan. But while touring Bhutan one needs a special permit by the government. We flew by Druk Airlines from Delhi to Paro. It was an incredible experience to watch people move around in traditional attire. Men look so dignified and composed in their ghos, the Bhutanese traditional clothing for men. And women look so graceful in their colorful kiras, the traditional clothing for women. Then, their intricately carved houses are a sight to behold and one can find a stunning monastery or stupa nearly on every corner. This is the country that coined the term '`Gross National Happiness’ as opposed to Gross National Product to designate a nation’s wealth. The sight of majestic Himalayan range from the plane was incredible as we flew past Kathmandu. I was spellbound by the innumerable tributaries passing through the dense forests, bright sunshine and snowcapped mountains. Upon touchdown at Bhutan I was instantly transported to a new world where I saw locals dressed in traditional attire guiding and helping the tourists. It requires incredible skill to fly an aircraft in the hilly terrains of Bhutan. Only few pilots are authorized to fly the airline because the plane passes through the mountains before a perfect landing. On arrival at the airport in Paro, we met the tour leader, a cheerful and patient guide from Bhutan named Tashi and were immediately transferred to Hotel Migmar in Thimpu, the modern capital city of Bhutan. We took approximately two hours to cover a distance of 60 kms. It was necessary to get acclimatized to the erratic weather. We had a city tour of Thimpu, visiting National Memorial Chorten and Buddha Dordenma Statue. The calm and quite ambience inside the hall was very effective. It has been strategically placed began Thimphu and Paro and it is believed to bless the residents of Bhutan. There were numerous prayer flags on the way. The local people believe that everyone must pray for each other and for the general well-being of humanity. They strongly believe that the prayer flags flutter when breeze blows or the river which carries water from one place to another is symbolic of spreading blessings far and wide. The stay at Hotel Migmar was very comfortable and the food was very tasty. Next day we covered approximately 90 Kms in three hours to reach Punakha from Thimphu. It is the only capital city in the world without traffic lights. Several years ago, a traffic light was installed, however, the locals complained that it was too impersonal. Hence, the traffic police continue to direct the traffic with their graceful gestures. Punakha is the former capital of Bhutan and the place of the confluence of the two rivers – Ma Chu and Po Chu. The best part was a trek to Taktsang Lhakhang or the Tiger's Nest in Paro.

Buena elección Al llegar el hotel se ve más modesto de lo que realmente es. Desde la llegada la amabilidad del personal es notoria. Nos recibieron con un te deliciosísimo y caliente que realmente necesitábamos. La habitación impecable con buen sistema de calefacción. La comida realmente deliciosa y variada, para todos los gustos. Adequate Stayed here for 2 nights as part of our tour of Bhutan. The hotel is a little tired and could do with some TLC. The staff are friendly and the food was adequate although they appear to do what many Bhutanese and Nepali hotels do which is to cater for the largest proportion of guests i.e. if most of the guests are Indian, they provide Indian food. The food was adequate, nothing exceptional and the only real complaint was that despite having freshly laundered bedding, at least one sheet and one pillow were stained.

A good hotel Recently on our trip to Thimphu Bhutan for a conference, we had our conference in this hotel. The banquet hall is large enough to accommodate 150 people and has fairly good audio visual arrangements. The hall at the basement is also good for smaller attendance. Food however is of mediocre quality with limited spread and mostly bland in taste. Don't stay in room 104! We stayed here for 2 nights. 1st room was 104, which i wouldn't recommend. The bathroom was atrocious. Ended up using the bucket & jug to wash as although we had hot water, the shower pressure was terrible. The sealing around was very mouldy and black. Not pleasant. Main issue not to stay in this room was the noise from the traffic. The windows were only single glaze and they were not draught proofed. You also heard the dogs bark all night = no sleep!! We asked to be moved and they gave us rm107, along the corrider. The windows were double glazed which made a huge difference. No noise from the road or dogs. Only small issue was opposite the main stairwell so you heard everyone at reception, not good as there was a conference going on. Breakfast and evening meal was buffet based, tailoring more to the indian pallette. You are not in the centre of Thimpu and there is nothing around except for a couple of shops. pleasant hotel We stayed in a deluxe room which was spacious, comfortable and clean. I was pleasntly suprised with the hotel as Bhutan is a developing country and I thought that the hotel would be more basic. The bathroom facilities all worked. The electrics were an interesting mix but nothing more than we expected and we didn't leave anything plugged in when were not in the room. The food for breakfast and dinner was fresh and well cooked. The staff were friendly. The only adverse comment we have is that the road which runs alongside the hotel is busy until late evening and gets busy at about 6am so if a light sleeper take ear plugs.

Hotel Migmar, Thimphu Hotel Migmar is one of the famous hotel in Thimphu city. It is situated on the main road and parking space are more. We have conducted our meeting with more than 100 persons in the conference hall in the 3rd floor. Had our dinner in ground floor and items are satisfactory.
